    Assistant Management Accountant

Position:           Management Accountant

Hours:              40 hours per week (exc breaks),

Shift Pattern:    Monday – Friday

The Opportunity:

We have a fantastic new opportunity for a Management Accountant to join our Finance team at our Nottingham Head office.

This is an exciting new role within the finance department suitable for an individual looking to grow within the business.

Providing accounting support for the Hyperama business unit. Assisting in the daily, weekly and monthly financial postings for management reporting. This will entail understanding and using our accounts package, and having an understanding of profit & loss accounts and balance sheet reporting.

Key Result Areas, Tasks and Main Duties:

  • Maintain all bank and cash accounts posting all income and expenditure
  • Producing and maintaining high quality monthly balance sheet reconciliations to a strict deadline. This includes (but not limited to) prepayments, accruals, GRNI, debtors & creditors
  • Monthly reconciliation of intercompany transactions between Hyperama and JK Foods (sales and purchase ledger) ensuring all differences are resolved
  • Maintenance of fixed asset register
  • Preparation of management accounts to Trial Balance
  • Providing holiday cover for the treasury and other management accountants
  • Any other duties as required by Financial Controller or the Finance Director commensurate with the post

The Candidate – Skills & Experience required:

  • Must be part professionally qualified or qualified by experience
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience within an accounts department
  • Intermediate level with Microsoft application in particular Excel
  • Must have the ability to maintain flexibility and a positive attitude in a fast paced and demanding environment
  • Must possess excellent communication skills
  • Proven aptitude for working with numbers and attention to detail
  • Must be self-motivated, organised, hardworking and able to work autonomously
  • Good knowledge and experience with accounts package (essential) such as Orderwise (desired)
  • Have a challenging mind improving process through innovation
